Bikes

Thanks to southside852.wordpress.com, I've bought Monkey the best little bike ever.  It's from Apita in Taikoo Shing (Cityplaza) which actually has a really good toy selection.  It's where lots of Monkey's current favourite things come from and this is no exception.  There's a bar around where the seat is, to keep the toddler stable, the foot supports are the right height, there's a basket at the front and at the rear, and check out the parent handle!  You can actually steer the bike from the rear - that is, either the parent can steer the bike, or the little person can stand behind the bike and push it along.  The best thing is that this bike can grow with the child- the bar comes off, and when the child's big enough, he can pedal and steer normally.  The Doraemon on the front is a squeaker.  I personally find Doraemon a bit scary, but it's a good bike, so what the hey.

It was a damp, cool, grey day.  We thought that there would not be many people up at the Coombe Road playground, and we were right.  Monkey had a good time though, playing on the swings.  The higher you go, the louder he laughs, and he really cracks up when the swing gets so high that I start thinking that maybe this all seems a bit unsafe!  We bought a bottle of bubble liquid from the kiosk and he enjoyed chasing the bubbles around.  We had brought his bike up with us, and he had a great time.

Then off for some cake (Blackforest and Passionfruit cheesecake), both of which Monkey thoroughly enjoyed.

He's been having a hard week- the incisors are coming out, so he hasn't been eating or sleeping well.  Today was a good day though, with lots of his old cheekiness coming out again.
