Favourite things

Monkey's favourite books:
-his 4 "lift the flap" books: Words, Animals, On the Farm, Things that Go.  He always pauses on the pages with the pictures of cars, tractors, trucks, bikes  but also likes making animal sounds.
-Baby Things that Go
-Richard Scarry's Cars, Trucks and things that Go
(see a pattern emerging yet?)
- Peek a Who
- Spot's Noisy Night (with buttons you press to hear the sounds)

His favourite friends: absolute Number One must be his baby eeyore that he adores.  He sleeps with eeyore and when he's fussing, only eeyore comforts him.  I live in fear that a dog will chew him up, or that we'll lose him- my worst nightmare because I've looked and looked, and can't find exactly the same eeyore.  Plenty of similar eeyores, but they've all been rejected by Monkey.  He's a pretty smelly eeyore now, and gets spirited off for a wash occasionally, but not as often as we'd like.

He loves his beige puppy too, and the black Rottweiler that reminds me of Monkey's favourite dog, that died.  And Teddy.  All of them (and more animals) end up in Monkey's cot at night, and I hear him talking to them when he wakes up in the morning.

His prized cars- the tiny die cast ones meant for ages 3+ are best.  We have to watch like a hawk in case he breaks off a part and swallows it, but so far, so good.  He likes the detail on the die cast ones, something which the plastic cars just don't have.  He likes them best if they're baby hand-sized and can spend ages "vrooming" them around the floor, or just running a finger over them to marvel at the detail.  Sigh, it'll be big cars before you know it!
