Monkey had a great weekend. Yaya came home from his Panda Junction class on Saturday flushed with pride, saying that he'd been a really good boy in class, chattering very loudly, paying attention throughout and not fussy at all. When the "magic curtain" parted to reveal an aeroplane, he said "bye bye", because that's what he says to the planes that pass overhead at home. He loved the bubble blower, and tried to grab the bubbles, saying "bub-be" "bub-be" at the top of his voice. He's usually at his most tired and cranky at the end of the class, but yesterday Yaya let him go into the middle of the circle for the goodbye song and he made his way around the circle dancing away, drawing lots of attention from the other parents there, looking chipper as anything.
We took him to the playroom at the Club after lunch. There's an outside bit that he likes, and a 0-4 playroom with padded surfaces, big soft shapes to build things with and (best of all) 2 large squashy soft dog cushions that he adores. He absolutely attacks those two dogs, diving into them, mouth wide open, lying face down on them, kicking his heels around, rolling around on the floor. We then went outside and he shared my ice cream and got given a balloon from a party that was just finishing up (I see a theme here).
We went to South Bay Beach today and he liked having the waves splash over his toes and playing in the sand under the shade of a tree. He liked walking the dogs in the afternoon as well and really kicks out in joy when he sees the dogs running around chasing each other. What made his day today is that we gave him char siew fan for dinner- he ate his large bowl of rice with not a squeak of complaint, down in 5 minutes flat.
Interestingly, he's very happy to come home to see his dogs, though he's not all that interested in other dogs he meets. He's taken to making barking sounds when he comes up the stairs in anticipation of seeing them, and the more boisterous they are in their play, the happier he is. He stands there squealing in delight as Daisy bowls into Tekla and the 3 large dogs chase each other around the small flat.
He's had a happy weekend, loving his books, playing with his cars....am I alone in blogging because I want to remember these happy golden days?
