On a whim, we decided to take Monkey to the beach after lunch. It was a wonderful day, cool but sunny, with blue skies and seas. The drive to South Bay beach seemed more like a drive in the south of France rather than Hong Kong.
Monkey loved the water and kept wanting to go back in to "catch" the waves. Being beach novices, we hadn't brought much for him to play with, and he was also really inappropriately dressed in long trousers, shoes and socks. Before we could do much, he dragged Annabel into the water and, when taken away, was adamant that he wanted to go back in!
We took off his trousers after a while so he could walk around in his diaper.
Too fun!! We took a wet and sandy baby back home. Even though he'd only spent half an hour (at the most) there, the new experience must have been tiring for him, for he was very good and quiet on the drive back home, fell asleep immediately he was put down, and had a nice long nap.
