Chunky Monkey

Monkey loves his food, hence the moniker.  He especially likes adult food - show him a packet of char siew rice and he gets really excited.  He loves congee, pastas and the pies that his Yaya makes him. He is also crazy about laughing cow cheese and yogurt and will always eat bread (especially DH's homemade buns).

A strange thing: I cut him a piece of some cake that a friend had bought over - a soft Japanese honey sponge cake- fully expecting him to love it.  Instead, all he did was crumble the cake over the floor, though he did try tasting some of the crumbs.  A very lukewarm response.  In contrast, show him a plain raisin bun, and he tries to grab it!  Maybe the Japanese sponge tasted too artificial?

He loves the crust of home made mince pies (who doesn't?).  He's not a fan of drink, even watered down juice, but he's been watching us have our mugs of strong milky tea with curiosity.  DH let him have some, and he loves it.  He'll try to grab mugs of milky tea (no sugar!) as they go by.  While he only sips juice, he really gulps down milk tea if we let him!  He likes durian too, though he shouldn't have it too often.
