This is Ferret, my 15.3hh chestnut ex-racehorse. He's from NZ, 8 years old, and is a *great* ride. It's always been one of my missions to balance being a mum to Thomas, work and riding horses. It's a real struggle at times, but the rewards are worth it. Ferret's coming along nicely and I'd like to do some dressage with him, but right now, he's learning his jumping and his XC (with Angelina).
I got him from "downstairs" and barely 2 weeks after I got him, I hacked him to Beas for a lesson with Tim. This when he didn't really understand moving left and right, and had no brakes! He's always been fantastic to hack and isn't scared of things.
This is my favourite way to spend a weekend morning: taking the dogs for a walk on horseback.
